I want to use my PSP 2000 to trade in for the coming PSP Go, does anyone know will there be any scheme or promotion for the trade in activities?
quick answer would be to go to a store and ask!. EB will trade for store credit that can be used to purchase the new go. my question is WHY? 2000 can have custom firmware the GO wont...yet .... or maybe never no one knows till they are released. Also the Go has a smaller screen...no UMD drive... and no-one has answered yet if you can d/l a game you already own free or if you have to buy your games all over again.... im sticking with my 2002 .......no go on the GO...lol

I just don't want to have a fierce competition to get a new one on 1st Oct, does anyone know where can i have a pre-order for that?
PSP Go is not welcome on the market . Gamers will not be offered trades (UMD vs digital coy) Retailers don't want to stock it now because the change is just to sudden , they still have old PSP's and games in stock .Sony America has said that it will not be possible for people to exchange their UMDs for digital versions of the games they already own.
"We were evaluating a UMD conversion programme, but due to legal and technical reasons we will not be offering the programme at this time," a spokesman has told Kotaku, as reported by Eurogamer.
Sony is really on their own , trying to set a trend . But if piracy hits the Go it will fail miserably .
If thats the case then the wont get many conversions to the GO from existing PSP. they must think lots of new users will come out of the woodwork...
cant really see why an existing user would want to change unless they just simply HAD to have the latest gadget and have more money than sense!!!!
EDIT:
Just had a look online at BigW here in Aust, prices are in AUD.
PSP 3000 with Gran Turismo $356.19 online price not sure if taxes need adding GST is 10%..
PSP GO! NO GAME $506.20 as above....
ok now tell me why i should trade in for that??? a PS3 is going for $488 with 2 games now!!!!! who in there right mind who already had a PSP would want to trade for a GO! ????

I'm an old customer for Gadget Asia, they are based in Hong Kong and they are having a pre-order activity now.
No, No, No, and one last NO. Sony thought the redesign would be a hit but reallly all it did is stir up a ruckus. Here are the main drawbacks to the GO:
- Sony isnt offering a transfer service. No way to convert your UMD's to a format that the GO can read.
- Sony isnt offering any rebates, returns, nothing. So there is absolutely NO incentive to make the switch if you already own a psp.
- 3rd party companies are backing out and not even supporting the GO because of its failure of popularity.
All of this proves Sony is out for our dollar and that just sucks...

do not remember any "go's" advertised in the christmas buildup either.. come to think of it i do not see any in the shops here in Aus.....
