Hello.
I'm sorry for my other topic, should have known that I couldn't ask for such stuff. Could you tell me some cool Homebrew that you like, games, programs etc? Is there any fun online games? And does original PSP games have online support?

Hello.
I'm sorry for my other topic, should have known that I couldn't ask for such stuff. Could you tell me some cool Homebrew that you like, games, programs etc? Is there any fun online games? And does original PSP games have online support?
For homebrew, my favorite have always been like quake ports, duke nukem 3d port, beats of rage (which I will be adding to the homebrew list soon), cspsp, and hopefully soon using the pspsdk I can make some nice homebrew of my own ^_^ (like porting some Linux games I really like, like frozen bubble or bzflag perhaps). What would be killer (though not needed really since it is a ps1 game and they can be converted, but this could be legally free) is Warzone 2100 went open source free game (even the media is free) and it would rock to port that to the psp. And the gameboy advanced emulator for golden sun 1 and 2.
For online games, I think most of the best are available at your local game shop, or on the wicked built-in Playstation Network download site on the new 5.00 firmware. Check out Siphon Filter: Portable Ops. Wicked online play with custom player built maps, and if you have a microphone you can chat to your other players. Other games like this (that might be on PSN, I dunno), Socom: Fire team Bravo 1 and 2 (beware of cheaters), and some other Socom game I can't remember the name of because I haven't bought it yet. Soon though we get a phantasy stars game, and AFAIK is online as well. You can import it from playasia if you want to right now, but you better know Japanese. I hear it's pretty hard if you don't... Though I would see if there is any tunneling software for the psp (like X-Link KAI?). If there is you can probably play alot of AD HOC games over the net with that software. I know I used to play halo 1 that way on the Xbox.

dosbox for psp is the closest you will get there
pspVNC
Do you experience lagg in games, and movies inside the games? I've some lagg on my 8gb memorystick pro duo, 8GB memorysticks are slower then those at 1GB?

As homebrew goes:
Snes9xtyl
GPSP 3.1 Kai (runs perfect GBA)
Nester J
CPS1 and CPs2
Polygun Wars (A Geometry wars clone, soo hooked up :P)
That polygun wars sounds cool, I'm a huge geometry wars fan, so I will see if I can find it and post it to the homebrew list under tutorials section.
Dosbox let's your run old dos computer games on newer systems (windows, linux, psp, etc). It was originally made because even in windows you can't play *many* dos games. Some games take ALOT of cpu power to run on it still (I couldn't get "The Elder Scrolls: The Arena" to run full speed on my 2.1 ghz machine) but many many games run perfect in dosbox.
VNC lets you run your computer's desktop over the network, but I found pspdisp works faster for that. Though pspdisp has a better framerate, it runs over usb cable, so it's not wireless... VNC is not very usefull on the road though since you need to be on a network to access it. It's good for stuff though if you setup your VNC server on your computer to be available on the internet (with a real good password) and access your computer from a hotspot on the road. I would probly use PSPDisp to do that for gaming since it get's better framerate than VNC.
There have been videos on youtube of people running windows 98 on their psp, but it takes a real long time for it to boot up. I believe they were using bochs.
Back to DOSBOX, the advantage there is it all runs on your psp (or windows, linux or mac box) off the memory card and therefore you don't need to be connected to a pc. And there are many free games available from "abandonware" sites. Aka, games that the company's that owned their liscenses went under or gave the game to the public since they aren't making money off it anymore and feel generous. Such DOS games that are concidered abandonware/freeware now: Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2, Return to Krondor, MDK, Elder Scrolls 3: The Arena, etc. If you good for abandonware you will find many great free download legal sites with these games and thousands more. Relive gaming's past with alot of these titles. Just make sure you virus scan all the files of course, since you should never *trust* any download site really.
