I havent used my psp in a few years. I thought Id fire it up and try to get back into the scene and figure out what the latest cfw is.
I charged it and started to set it up again and it wont let me connnect to my wifi.

    I've got a Linksys WRT54GL and my wifi is WPA/WPA2 Personal + TKIP/AES
I entered my password in and that didnt work figured it wasnt compatable with wpa2 so I changed security to off and it still would not connect. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

    I'm on 5.00 M33-6

I can't help with the PSP connection issue, but I will advise you not to leave your router's security off. You probably knew that already though.

Does your router allow you to use WEP or an older WPA security set up?

Yah I know. I just turned it off temporarily to see if the psp would connect. It doesnt matter much anyways because there's really no one around that will steal the wifi. I live in a quiet neighborhood and the houses arent close enough together.

Its set up as Mixed B+G
    js that ok?

Could it be the firmware got partially corrupted or something causing the wifi not to work right?

I had the exact same problem with my psp.I got it to work by selecting the wifi B only option on my router,Which sucks because of the speed decrease to all my other devices.

The psp sees a wifi B/G network but wont connect to it.
PS1-SCPH-5502 Chipped. Dont know which one.
PS2 -SCPH -75001 Dead Laser. Using OPL and SMB Shares
    PSP - PSP2005 5.50GenD3 Prom-4
    PS3-CECH2508B Kmeaw 3.55

    Thanks that was it!
Guess I wont be using wifi on my psp very much. There's no way I'm going to keep it on B only. I'll just switch when i want to use it.

When I installed cfw on it last time I set it up so that when I hit the update button it wouldnt update from sony, but from custom firmware. It did work way back when... but now it doesnt work.
So I've been looking around and trying to figure out what cfw I need to put on it. I'm guessing permanent cfw is like unteathered jailbreak for iphone, and non-permanent is teathered? How do I know if my psp is capable of installing newer permanent cfw still? I can't find a link in any of the tutorials.
