he said it was on 6.20 firmware and was trying the perm patch thing and messed it up.
so he's asked me to try recovery it
ive tried all the normal things..
putting a 6.20 ofw file in teh recovery menu
no go
reboots to black screen after pressing x to run the recovery menu
i did have an option to enable flash0 writing on the recovery menu
but installed somethgin and its a diff recovery menu now lol
can any1 point me in any directions as to what to do now ?
ive just about exhausted my ideas lol
even if its flashing orig firmware back to it he is ok with that
thanks

This is first step to get rid of perma patch
Hold O+X+SELECT+START during the bootstrap the perament patch will emergency uninstall. Use it as a last resort.
or hold select during start up to get to OFW

Randqalan, wouldn't he need a backed up VSHorig file or something like that , or can that be used without the the file. As when installing that custom firmware, it tells you to backup the original VSH file in case of emergencies. @ opening post see if your mate has backed up the original vsh file, that may be useful.
