    Hi guys,

I'm new here and I seriously need some help. I tried searching for a thread similar to my problem but there doesn't appear to be any.

My PSP 3K is on 6.60 official FW before the PRO-B9 was installed. It worked fine on every game i tried.

One day i copied games onto my PSP via usb connection to the PC. After I was done copying, the PRO-B9 updater is no longer there, instead there is an icon with a name corrupted data, and the PSX game I just copied. I didn't try launching the game, then proceeded to copy the PRO-B9 updater. When I checked the game menu on XMB, I see the corrupted data and the PSX title again. I formatted the Memory stick then installed the PRO-B10 afterwards. When the PSP booted after installation, the games copied do not show up, but I can see the videos, music and photos on their respective menus.

What seems to be the problem? Is there a fix for this. By the way could someone please tell me what the Fast recovery is for?

    Thanks in advance

Try to power on your console while holding square+triangle+select+start combination - this will drops all settings to default. Also, check recovery menu by opening vsh menu in PRO-mode.
And one thing also, try pressing square button in XMB, this triggers sorting categories. Good luck in any case.

Fast recovery is to quickly get you back into the CFW without having to reinstall it. I suggest you use that from now on and avoid having to constantly re-install Pro B10.

CFW Pro is not a modified firmware but a Homebrew App that can boot your PSP in Custom Firmware Mode so system security is disabled and custom content can be executed.
To install it you need to download the package of your choice here.
This depends on which official firmware your PSP is currently running, For instance your PSP is running OFW 6.20, then you can only install CFW Pro 6.20
If you want the latest go for the Nightly Build section. If you're planning to use CFW Pro Online (more info at the bottom) you need the latest Nightly Build installed.

When downloaded you'll find a .tgz file which can be extracted with winrar.
When extracted you get the main folder and within the main folders a PSP folder and a seplugins folder.

Just copy those 2 folders (with all their content) over to the root of your memorystick.
Now go back to your PSP and check your GAMES folder icon on the XMB.

It contains 3 applications, which are all signed so they can be run from official firmware:
    - PROUPDATE - to install or uninstall CFW Pro. Click on the icon, read the instructions press X and wait
    - FastRecovery - to run CFW Pro after a system shutdown. Just click on the icon.
    - CIPL_Flasher - not recommended, it can be installed so your PSP runs CFW Pro permanent. You can delete this app if you don't wanna use it.

After installation your PSP is auto booted in CFW Pro, but since it's a homebrew your PSP will be back to official firmware once you power down the system.
When coming out of sleep-mode CFW Pro will still be active

That's where fastrecovery comes into action.
When you power up your PSP after a complete shutdown, just click the fastrecovery icon and your PSP will reboot in CFW Pro mode.

You will only see game icons and (most) unsigned Homebrew icons in CFW Pro mode.

A good site for more info here.

The latest development is CFW Pro Online; it takes you a step further.
All information can be found here
It will let you play online with games that have adhoc-mode. It's still in early development but some games are already compatible.
That are hundred of games that use adhoc-mode

    Compatible games so far:
    Code:
    [ULUS-10511] ACE COMBAT JOINT ASSAULT
[ULES-01003] Metal Gear Solid - Portable Ops +
[ULES-00645] Metal Gear Solid - Portable Ops
    [UCES-00038] SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3
    [ULJM-05800] Monster Hunter Portable 3rd
[CROSSLINKED] Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake
    [ULUS-10466] Tekken 6
    [CROSSLINKED] Split Second Velocity
    [ULJM-05553] WARSHIP GUNNER 2 PORTABLE
[ULUS-10086] Untold Legends The Warrior's Code
[ULES-00046] Untold Legends...: Brotherhood of the Blade
    [ULUS-10438] PANGYA : Fantasy Golf
    [ULJS-00237] GOD EATER
    [ULES-01230] BLOOD BOWL
    [ULES-00819] Worms Open Warfare 2
    [ULES-00763] Virtua Tennis 3
    [NPUH-10045] Worms: Battle Islands
    [UCES-01327] ModNations... Racers
    [CROSSLINKED] GODS EATER BURST
Crosslinked means you can play again each other with all regions of this game.

    Hi bigdaddie,

unfortunately, that is exactly what I did. I even watched this video tutorial for total noobs. On the system settings, it says 6.60 so I downloaded 6.60 PRO-B9 which is the one I used to Play a dozen games or so without incident for quite some time. When I saw this corrupted data icon after adding new titles to my memory stick, that's when I decided to upgrade to 6.60 PRO-B10. Nothing shows up on the game folder but the Pro updater and Fast recovery even after running the CFW which I can confirmed has been installed as the system setting displays 6.60 PRO-B10. I tried PRO-B9 again hoping it would work but still got the same result. Would there be any difference if the CFW is only copied to the Memory stick via USB card reader than PSP USB connection to the PC?

    Thanks

Strange, you have installed it correctly...

Download PRO-B10 fix 1 from the official website and install that.

You do have a correct folder layout on the memorystick?
For Games: ISO folder on the root of the MS, games go inside: .iso or .cso (compressed).
For Homebrew: they go in /PSP/GAME/

Most of the time a corrupted icon means the app is placed in the wrong directory or is in the wrong format.
If you run CFW Pro the icon is always shown even if the app is not compatible.
