Although it still says "5.50 GEN-D3" in the version information screen.
Personally, I feel the 5.00 M33-6 is a little too outdated for me - no subfolder support, and my themes, games and homebrew software work fine on 5.50 GEN-D3 with the Prometheus-3v2 patch (Yea, there's a Prometheus-3v4 patch, but it screws up DJMax Portable 3 on my console ).
5.00 M33-6 is probably better for you if you want a stable and fast memory stick driver that gives you the speed, as 5.50 GEN-D3 doesn't have such a thing.
FATMSMOD for 5.00 M33 can be used to speed up memory stick access in 5.50 GEN-D3 though, but it makes your PSP lose the ability to read files with names that comprises of non-English characters (The PSP will stop listing files in the Music, Picture and Video content categories once it encounters such a file).
Therefore, I'm stuck with video stuttering for some of my Anime games.
cheers guys i will go with the newest one and give it a try:)
i have got my psp ready for my pandora arriving.an xmas pressie has arrived for my son who this psp is for and its fifa 11.i have tried it and needs to update to 6.31.if i do this will i be able to hack it still?
Leave your PSP running 5.50 GEN-D3 final, and just install Prometheus-3v4 (Adds support for games that need OFW versions up to 6.31).
