PSP 1000 on 5.5 gen d3 best way to update with a pandora battery ?

Hi its been a long time since ive updated my sons psp its currently on 5.5 GEND3 its a old psp 1000 and i have a pandora battery and memory card , can anyone suggest the best way to get it up to date to play the latest stuff please

update to official firmware 6.60 and then run procfw 6.60 installer.

it's signed so it will run on OFW without any issues.

it's still safe to keep pandora battery around, just in case you want to downgrade or in case of a brick (didn't have a brick with procfw, but you never know).

this will run most games out of the box (maybe except for kingdom hearts) that required modifcations for older firmware.

there are issues with popsloader - it works but i cannot get vagrant story to run anymore :/
