oh and its a slim model 1001
You're sure that it's a PSP-1001?? Slimlines are PSP-20xx, and brites are PSP-30xx. Not to mention that a PSP GO! is PSP-40xx. PHATS are PSP-10xx consoles.
and i created a memstick but when i put it in and turn on the psp the memory indicator and wlan leds stay lit and then it shuts off after a few seconds maybe like 15 or 20 but the screen stays black i tried a bunch of different programs to create the stick but they all have the same result
What were you trying to accomplish? If your PSP acts like that, it seems like a software crash.
When you create a "Magic MemoryStick", you must encounter no errors when the software injects the IPL.
You must also have the right firmware file available for the PC-side installer if you were installing a CFW installer to your MS.
