Need help on wich firmware and steps to mod psp 1000 –

Hi,
It`s been more than a year since I checked the psp modding scenery and I'm kinda outdated. I have a psp 1000 that a friend gave to me for free and I don`t know what I need to mod it. I want to be able to play the latest psp games if possible and some ps1 classics. The last firmware I had on my old PSP was Gen D-3. This PSP`s never been modded before. I got a pandora battery available and a 16 gb memory stick.
If someone could only give me the links on the best firmware to todays date, that would be awesome! I've checked a little bit myself on the forum, but I'm confused with all those CFW for the 3000s psp.
Thanks in advance!

Ok so you have a 1000 PSP the original model, well and good. Next you would need a brand new CFW besides Gen-D3, use the Xgen installer to reinstall OFW 5.50 and then update to 6.39 Official Firmware, not 6.60 but 6.39, then use 6.39 PRO-B8 Permanent CFW and you are good to go. Also this CFW has a new ISO driver known as Inferno with great compatibility and can play the latest games

Personally i wouldn't recommend betas as such because of the bugs that go along with them. Take PROs nightly builds, they were filled with bugs but their main CFW was great. So just wait it out. Again if you are impatient you could try Nuer0ner's CFW which is only for PSP 1K and 2K(pre ta88v3)

I agree with you completely betas are nice if you know what you are doing but stable releases are a lot safer

Yeah but since its 6.60 and there is no downgrade option available i would recommend he try the lower firmware besides 6.60 that is 6.39,6.38,6.20 etc.

you can downgrade from firmware 6.60 if your psp works with the pandora battery and magic stick.as stated in a post i started i upgraded to cfw 6.60 and back down to 5.50 and then back to cfw 6.60.so if your psp works with pandora and magic stick which it will (psp 1000)and if you have these then you are good to try what ever ofw or cfw you want.

Yeah but those GOs and 3000s aren't pandora capable if you know what i mean. Plus i would wait until a kernel exploit is revealed by some1 in the form of a downgrader or something that can be very helpful.
