    Hello everybody,

I have a PSP-3000, with non-permanent CFW 6.60 PRO-B9. I have tried probably a dozen or so different POPSLoaders and stuff, and none of them have remotely worked. I tried Final Fantasy VII, in a custom/home made eboot (of course, I legally own and ripped the discs), and it won't work no matter what I try. I believe I've tried PopsLoader v3 and v4, and even without PopsLoader.

Here's what happens: The warnings appear, but it isn't the warning you get from loading PSP Memory Stick Games (like if you downloaded a PSP game from the PSN) but PSX Games (what you get from downloading PSX from the PSN). Then, after the warning screen, the PSLogo shows, then the game works just fine; get to the menu screen, select "New Game" and the game freezes indefinitely (there's supposed to be an FMV here; that may affect it?). I've tried holding down the R trigger/shoulder button to make the menu appear, but it has never worked. When it begins to load, I hold down the R and nothing happens, it just boots normally. What on earth is wrong here? I have the .txt file correctly in my seplugins folder, and everything SHOULD work, but it never has. Is there anyway I can get around this? I've read something about having to use a PSARDumper but most of the ones I get don't mention that. So what's the problem? What am I doing wrong, and what can I do to fix this?

Thanks for any and all help,
    James

EDIT: I've tried with a Compression Value of 1 and 9, and neither worked. Do I need to do something in between? (this is in reference to creating the eboot)

EDIT 2: I have an official Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo with Magic Gate Encryption.

EDIT 3: Have tried with Disc Speed set to Normal and Fast.

    Afterdawn Forums
    PSP SlimHacks
    QJ Net
and PSP Dash Hacks, to name a few.

On the Afterdawn Forums, I got the one that didn't require decrypting.

All of these worked the same; would boot the game, no firmware menu when pressing R and wouldn't start new game.

    Thanks for replying.

    Ok give it a try

Is the only thing you have in POPS.txt is popsloader if not disable others and try
and you hold right trigger during boot up of game

x game starts to boot hold right trigger until you see a list of FW then choose one most recent works fine with my FFVII

Start the recovery menu and go to the plugins menu and make sure the popsloader plugin is enabled.

Ok, could you please tell me which one of the above you tried, or confirm that one of them works? That would be great.

The text for the POPS.txt is...

    ms0:/seplugins/popsloader/popsloader.prx 1
But what's the name of the txt supposed to be? Is it really important? One of them here is _POPS, you said POPS and I believe the ones I did was pops. Would it really make THAT much of a difference?

So yeah, I press X on the game selection screen under memory stick, and then immediately hit the R trigger, and nothing out of the ordinary happens.

As for the recovery menu, I go there and make sure that it is enabled, and it is, so I don't know what's up.

Thanks for all of the replies guys

P.S. Is it possible to do single "disc" eboots and still make it work? I'd rather have smaller files and not mess with transferring huge files. Also, maybe I did something wrong when I made the eboots? I choose 3 discs, I selected the images in order of 1, 2, and 3. Then I selected my game from the list of game codes, then I set the compression levels to 1...what level did you use?

EDIT: Doing some experimentation: will update if I find anything out.

The pops text should be named as this POPS.TXT and in it should be like this ms0:/seplugins/popsloader/popsloader.prx 1 or ef0 if go model

and popsloader must be located in seplugins

and yes you can do separate cd and use the mc manager in import saves

This is slightly off topic, but how do I import saves from the original PSX version? I know how to get them onto the computer from my PS2 (just copy from memory card to flash drive, and from flash drive to PC), but not sure how I can make them work with POPSLoader.

When you say popsloader must be located in seplugins, do you mean the folder, or the folder and the prx?

If you could give me a screen shot, that would be sweet and very well appreciated A couple would be better.

EDIT: No CLUE what I did to do this, but I can now load the selection menu; testing to get it past new game...

EDIT 2: For some reason, 3.02, 3.71, and 3.72 don't work; 3.02 goes back to the XMB and I get an error saying game can't start, and 3.71 and 3.72 turn off the PSP...

EDIT 3: Were you using Normal or Fast disc speed?

EDIT 4: The most recent, 6.60, does not work. Indefinite black screen like the others. Will continue testing with other FWs.

Home on list mc manager and go to old mc and copy to new mc

the whole folder must be in plugin

this states just like windows that the prx is in seplugins/popsloader/popsloader.prx 1

the whole folder if you put it in POPS text as above

yea some pops are not for your model so won't work correctly

try default and see if it works correctly maybe the decrept didn't go well with the download you got for 6.60 but internal pops should work

I've tried like 5.00 - 6.60, original, and the others I listed above, and still nothing works...yeah maybe a decrypt didn't go right...argh don't want to do all of that...or how long would it take? Just a couple of minutes?
