Hi, I got a small problem here. I been out of the loop on psp scene and my psp is only at 5.50 Gen-D2. I got a jp psp game that I want to try out and when I try it, it give me a error. I try to patch the eboot with iso tool the fmv would work but ti would stuck on loading for Nth amount of minutes. Any advice here?

    What's your PSP's model?
If it's a slimline, you might want to try the 6.37 ME CFW.

Otherwise, you should just upgrade to 5.50 GEN-D3 final and then install the Prometheus-3 patch on it.

If you are bold enough, try the Prometheus-4 patch.
But that patch breaks some games on my PSP-1006 console.

is 5.50 GEN-D3 the best version that can play all latest games without updating and still have access to all the other cool plug-ins?

Best (?) compatibility with plug-ins: Yes (Unless you want to compare with 5.00 M33, but 5.00 does lack some features).
Compatibility with new games: No (Unless you install the Prometheus patch, then you'll be able to run games that require up to FW 6.35 at most).
    Access to the PSN: No.
