Help Noob to the Psp

Hi this my first psp i ever had, i have and modded my ps3 but im tryin to mod my psp and i dont know where to start.

i have a psp1001 ofw 4.05.

all i know is my cuzin messed the battery up so im using the charger to play it, can someone point me in the right direction, i would appreciate it. THanks
