Hello. I have a PSP 2000 with cfw 4.01 M33-2 and I was wondering what is the latest and best cfw? how do I install it? is there a risk of a brick? I have not installed a cfw in almost 3 years so I cannot remember for the life of me anything about this portable sorry.

If someone can lead me in the right direction that would be great.

Try out my noob friendly guide over here at the link below. If you have a PSP 2000 pre ta 88 v3 like me then you can have permanent custom firmware. If not Light custom firmware is also an option. With Light custom firmware you have 90% of a chance of not bricking your console.

I don't think I can update. Mainly because when I try to it says I am on a higher firmware already? and if I use your lite method can I still use my ISO's and CSO's? also I am not sure if I have an old board or not. All I know is I i used a pandora battery on mine years ago.

If possible uninstall the CFW you have on your psp but is you can't then change your version.txt to your OFW that is what is causing you not to be able to update
and PRO has the ability to run both iso and cso and has 3 different drivers for them inferno M33 and Sony NP9660 so very high compatibility for games

    V10 SCPH-50001 with Network adapter SCPH-10281 500 G HD
    PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

Check google I for one do not know how to uninstall your type of CFW

You could just update to new OFW then try New CFW but may be risky if you can make or own pandora battery you may be total safe in any account

Even a brick can be fixed if you PSP is pandora compatible
