Hacking psp 3001 OFW 5.02. Is pandora needed?

1. what can be hacked on psp 3001 with OFW 5.02?
1a. is pandora battery needed to flash CFW for above?
1b. or i can flash cfw by copying specific files to mstick, like on OFW 6.20-6-35?
2. psp 3004 and 3001 differences? (other than security and fw)

1. u can run homebrew and iso's using 5.03 prometheus
1a. no. more to the point, it doesnt work on 3k
1b yes this is what u would do
4. the last digit denotes which region the psp was manufactered in, asia, america, europe etc..

almost all psp are hacked now... go to psphacks.com to update yourself on the newest stuff... for the psp 3000 you should update to 6.20 and get the tn homebrew enabler and prometheus iso loader.. that is what i have on mine everything works great even have psn access

I thought this only denotes the psp-region it was sold in (a.k.a. MagicGate-Region on a PS2).
