can the 3000 be hacked?
can the 3000 be hacked? –

Hi I have a PSP 3000. I was wondering if they are hackable. I seen a tutorial on the front page but I do not wish to attempt anything until I get more info first. I was here yesterday but that was about my 2000. I recently got a 3000 model with 6.38 firmware. I want a cfw that I can switch back to OFW to CFW if need be.
Please read my entire post before copy/pasting a tutorial as an answer as you might miss a specific. I also have a pandora battery still btw.

Then PRO and ME are your way to go just follow the tut
http://psx-scene.com/forums/f160/noo...are-psp-96662/ (A NOOB's GUIDE TO INSTALLING 6.60 PRO- B9 Custom Firmware on PSP)
You can use either 6.60 or 6.39 but you will have to update to OFW of the version that you want to use
On the 3000 models most can not be perm anyway and PRO and ME come with a Fast Recover that you use to get to CFW and when you boot psp it is always if you turn them off

PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

ME and PRO both have the ability to Use CSO ISO and can run PSX games and most homebrew but always look for homebrew that matches your CFW like 6.39 or 6.60
Well both can be perm for 1000 and 2000 models but for other only 6.20 can be perm for most models so your answer is that all have none perm and perm

Funny thing is if you get both and keep both bootloaders on psp you can install both and switch at will so that means you can go OFW PRO and ME
They both are excellent CFW

Ah I am not 100% understanding. Boot loaders? does the tutorial explain the differences between the two? How could I install both?
"In this case I will take the 6.60 PRO-B9 since I have a compatible PSP 2000 and mother board pre TA-88v3., it should look some thing similar to this., once the downloaded file has been extracted."
Yeah, and what if I don't?
"(Remember that I have identified my PSP system model to be a 02G pre 88V3 so I can have permanent custom firmware, yours maybe different or similar to what I have.)"
Um I don't want a permanent CFW though...

1 Download
2 Decompress
3 Take for PRO Update and FastRecovery put in Game Folder on Memory stick
4 Run update for PRO
5 once boot to installer hit x
6 once installed hit x again
7 go to games and delete update do not delete FastRecovery
8 get LME and make sure it is LME not ME for 6.39 PSP CFW & LCFW 6.39 ME v9.6 Released | PSP-Hacks: Hack your PlayStation Portable for 6.60 PSP CFW & LCFW 6.60 ME v1.5 Released | PSP-Hacks: Hack your PlayStation Portable
9 decompress
10 in the decompressed folder find installer launcher
11 copy folders to game folder of MS
12 run LME installer follow instructions
13 delete installer but don't delete launcher
14 to go OFW just turn PSP off
15 after OFW boot use either launcher for me or fastrecovery for PRO FYI you do not need to turn off PSP to change CFW just use either fastrecover or launcher to switch between

That depend on if you decide to update to 6.39 or 6.60 go with the ones that you update your psp to but you must get OFW of 6.39 or 6.60 first then update your psp first
