Buttons (X, O, Square, Triangle) not working. –
My PSP is a 3000 model. And it has 5.03 OFW (It's OFW because I removed the battery then returned it back then I turned on the PSP and it boots to the initial setup. The buttons are not working (Only the X, O, Square, and Triangle. The others are working.) so I cannot go after the clock setup in the initial setup. I tried opening the PSP but I cannot remove the screw in the bottom. It's so freaking tight. Please help me.
Thanks in advance.
it sounds like its your buttons board, ive only done alot of work on phat psp's in my time but the slim models are basicly the same build, just look for the little buttons board (mini mobo) , to access it im guessing u only would need to take the faceplate off, at this point just clean the conecting pads and buttons with a dry cloth (i just used to use my sleeve) u will be suprised just how dirty they get, then check the conector that conects the button board to the motherboard, u will have to take the screen out im sure to do this bit.
ive had this problem myself but like i said ive only modded phat psp's.
i used to own 7 psp's , i have 3 left
original jap 1000 unopened (she's ma baby)
pink 1003 opened but unmodded
100% clear (with sony logo's) + blue and red LED lights in L R + dir pad + buttons pad.
havent turned all 3 on for over a year now easy lol they just sit there
MunchPSP on youtube if u wanna see some of my work. (not that im trying to spam)
anyways i hope this helps u out
sorry i forgot to say once u take the faceplate off , take the rubber from the back of the buttons (its what holds the buttons to the faceplate) , then just rub the rubber in your fingers cleaning it up , now place the rubber on the buttons board and test psp (yes u can turn psp on while faceplate is off)
