PC should work and fix errors
Hope it works if worst case just backup and format then put stuff back and hope that took care of problem![]()

Is how all good gaming systems came to beOkay, just used the PC to fix the memory card. Now I'm letting it charge, just in case, and will report back if it worked. And then I will try formatting it.
EDIT 1:
Hmm, the "fix" solution did not work. Still turns on and off. I'm trying to format now. Hopefully there wasn't a program for that and it was meant to be done via the PC. xD
EDIT 2:
Did the format, and put everything back on. I won't be able to tell if it worked until I play it for a while, or leave it on. I'll get back as soon as I know!
EDIT 3:
Nope, still turns on randomly. It was fine for about fifteen minutes, then I turned it off, left and then came back to see it was on. As soon as I picked it up, it turned off and on again.
EDIT 4:
I just tried a solution I found on youtube by sticking a little piece of paper in with the battery in case it couldn't touch the board, and it stayed on for a minute and half on the menu. Then I went into a game and it lasted about 1.05 minutes, and turned off. When I turn it back on, it takes me out of the game to the menu (where you can edit system settings etc etc that screen) and then turns off again. I tried it again on the menu, and it lasted about a minute and half again, and then turned off. Then I turned the PSP on and went over a couple, so I would know if it shut down or not, and put the PSP on lock. It stayed on -- until I turned it off -- for five to seven minutes. I'll try this method when in game, though its worthless if it doesn't turn off in lock mode. Can't play that way....
Is it possible its just the power fuse or power? I really want to play my PSP.![]()

Bump? I made a lot of edits to the above post, if the details of what has happened with each test is important.![]()
Sounds like maybe you have a blown fuse or maybe a short somewhere in their
So it works with lock on but not with it off maybe something is loose inside shorting the board?
because if a fuse it would not even turn on at all in normal mode so something is shorting the battery or other maybe take a part and look for dirt in something
or clean it may fix![]()

Is how all good gaming systems came to beIf I took it about, how would I know if something is wrong? Is there someplace I could go to see what a "working/normal" inside of a PSP looks like?![]()
You could look threw these see if it is what you need but don't know what could be the problem sounds like short or bad switch
Psp Disassembly

Is how all good gaming systems came to beHmm, I watched that one and all I could find on the sidebar for PSP 2000 models, but none of them really showed what a working piece looked like, or at least gave a clear image of the insides of the PSP.![]()
Well all I can say maybe someone who knows your model over here
Can help you I am at a loss but something is wrong with switch or short I am guessing.

Is how all good gaming systems came to beHow could I fix a short or fuse? Or know which could be a problem?
I'll check out the link right now.![]()
Well hopefully someone over at that place has something like it happen with that model and can help you out
I never owned that model so can't help much for Hardware on it![]()
