Which CFW? PSP 1002 –
09-22-2011,03:35 AM
I have a PSP 1002 picked up from cash convertors <3 and isn't it just handy that is already on 5.5? Anyways I want to install a newer CFW and not sure what one to get. Pro B9 looks like a good FW just not sure wether to go for 6.2 or 6.60? Do I lose any features by going to the most recent? And also if I can I would still like online play so 6.60 seems like the way to go but if the CFW doesnt allow dual boot then am I better off with just 6.2 and making it perm? Thanks (this is all info I have sort of figured out myself after the last hour or so)
Edit: Also how do I go about installing these
i.e do I go to the OFW of the version I want then install CFW or something else. I think im right in that aspect of knowledge just want to confirm.

Might aswell get the lastest CFW. Pretty sure it has all features supported.
You could downgrade if you change your mind anyway.
You can play online with CFW, even with older versions. But you can dual boot OFW anyway if you wanted.
Download this and read the readme for instructions on how to install.
Enjoy.

The difference between ME an LME is one is permanent and the other need a launcher if your PSP is 1000 2000 model then ME if any other then LME is the way to go

V10 SCPH-50001 with Network adapter SCPH-10281 500 G HD
PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred

What RandQalan is trying to say is that, if you have a hackable PSP say either a 1000 or a 2000(pre TA-88 v3) which is pandora battery compatible then you can use the ME CFW which is permanent, otherwise if you have a 3000 or GO model then you would have to settle for a LME that is Light Custom Firmware which is not compatible. In your case you can use the permanent CFW as you have the 1000 model the original fat PSP model.

Yea like you said for your son LCFW
If you turn off a psp with LCFW you will have to use boot the recovery to get back to CFW that is why is called LCFW it is in memory only temporarily
While CFW boots on start of PSP

crazy. Well thanks for clarifying. So I should select recovery when I turn the psp on instead of update? Cool. Thanks for clarifying that for me. Thanks.
