Recently I wanted to play an old PlayStation game again and taking the FMCB advantage I used method 2 described here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f10/faq-...lay-ps2-64111/ (FAQ on PS1 Gameplay for the PS2) to play the game. I made a slide card and I was able to eject the disc tray and put it back again without pressing eject button.
The problem occurs when I swap the original by the backup, when the console boots the backup the laser unit makes click noises for about 2 or 3 minutes and finally loads the game (it takes more time than original disc), no more click noises during play.
I think this problem is because the console reads the game TOC again and it is forced to use more power (I'm guessing), maybe because the way I'm burning the discs (Alcohol 120% @16X). This not occurs with original PS1 games nor ESR or original PS2 discs. I was surprised once during swapping session the console didn't do any noise and the game loaded very, very fast as an original should do. I read that maybe the laser is triying to focus, but I don't know, I'm very sure I'm swapping correctly and gently, I tried to swap an original by another and no noises at all so it is possible to discard a bad swapping. I'm aware that using non original cds could damage my laser unit but I just want to play this game. Any suggestions/recomendations?
Thank you all!
PS: I'm very sorry if this is not the right place to post this, I think PlaySation forum is kind of dead, Ive written a couple of answers but no response.
