Hello everyone I just got a PS2 Freemcboot memory card this week and have HD loader and HD loader server and I have a HDD that is compatible with my ps2 because I tested it by ripping a game to it. Now I would like to copy .iso files of games I have ripped with my computers drive so I dont wear out the PS2 lens. I tried FTp with the hdl dump and the hd loader server but I couldnt get it to work on my computer every time I try to install a game I get an error. What I`d like to do is just use my old PC that I stole my PS2s current hdd from and just copy the game from there but I dont think the PS2s format on the HDD will let it work with a computer right?

Does that require some type of enclosure? Are those expensive?

No but it more convenient if you have one you can hook it up to pc inside and run
You can add remove with it but up to you if you feel like pulling a part your pc each time

no becaues the iso's are not copied but installed to a partition. the PS2 uses a partition for each game. that is why you need winhiip to install games. a USB enclosure or just a IDE to USB cable are enough to install games. much quicker than any other method and no strain on the laser. also no need to take your computer apart each time you want to add a game.. ebay has cables really cheap...

i once had to rebuild my sons 320GB HDD due to some corruption... did 300GB in around 2 hours..

Actually I asked this very same question years ago, basically from what i got from dlanor, is that something like this would likely be possible "putting an iso on a usb and making a program that would install it to the hard drive" however no one has taken up the project simply becuase the data transfer rates would be slow and it would be impractical for regular use. I still beg to differ seeing how you just recently asked the same question

also another great option would be to a program that would convert and transfer isos from usbextreme format to hdloader format.

The main idea in both cases is to have more than one option besides discs to load games to the hdd straight from the console thus eliminating more pc usage.

ok i will qualify my statement by saying that with the current tools it is not possible.

if someone wrote a tool to create the partition , read the iso/usbutil format image from the USB then converted and installed to the internal HDD then yes you could BUT it doesnt exist BECAUSE the PS2 USB is only 1.1 which means in common terms everyone should understand.... " BLOODY SLOW " . also the PS2 can not even reach the full speed of USB1.1 . all you need is a few dollars for a USB to IDE cable from ebay or where ever... and the FREE program we already have which is winhiip.
