Upgrading Question –
if i upgrade free mcboot, put everything on the pen drive.. should I load up Free Mcboot,,
then Format the card?
or do i just overwrite the files?
you can use uLE to copy the newer .ELF files. use uLE to browse to the new file on a USB device then press R1 to get the copy/paste menu.
136 installs , last on 16-NOV-2013
PS2 50002 PAL Silver
+ Network Adaptor + 500 Gig
Hitachi IDE + FMCB 1.8b
PS2 79002 PAL
Slim Unmodded FMCB 1.8b
black CFW 6.60 B10 PhotoFast 5400 with 2 x 8 Gig micro SDHC
With one update I did awhile back, I had to remove the old .elf and replace it with the updated one(my console is pretty old though, so that may not be the case with yours).
My console is a 39001 so its pretty old as well..
Thanks for the tip on replacing the ELf file. how about upgrading Free McBoot?
its the best console its v7 .
which version of FMCB you have ?
I have version 1.6 right now, I wanna upgrade it to 1.8
I tried it before, and i accidently pressed some buttons while words popped up and it messed up the installation
I think it was cuz I did not overwrite the files
So the psp just hang at the Free Mcboot screen, and I had to take out the memory card, let the browser load up, and then delete everything and re-install free mcboot
well if you have a way to install 1.8b after you uninstalled the 1.6 then do it
Yeah,,,, I need help to install 1.8b after uninstalling 1.6 :d
I have an 8GB Sandisk SDHC in a USB reader that I use to do the transfers with.
If you have something like that, then use that. MP3 players with USB connectors will also transfer the files.
Just copy and paste it to a text type folder and do the same to finish
the transfer as you would in one of the ways previously mentioned.
