    Hi all,

I tried to use this installer and as instructed I wanted to make a MC dump before proceeding to install, but now the screen is stuck on Dumping Memory Card 2 Please wait for 20+ min (can I turn/restart my PS2 - which is unmodded SCPH-75004)...I am using two card One in first slot with "standard" 1.8 FMCB which I used to start off the 1.8c installer from USB, and I formatted MC2 and than wanted to make clean dump. Now I dunno what to do...Restart try again- do not restart wait no matter how long??
    Regards

I had the dump do that before just start over but delete the dump first and make sure your usb is not corrupt connect to pc and do check disk with repair

BTW what I usually do is use mca_v20 to make backup then install 1.8c the dump for FMCB is well not perfect while mca_v20 works almost flawlessly

@dankobananko: Aborting a dumping operation won't hurt your card.

But you might want to perform a disk check on your USB disk before erasing the incomplete memory card image.

Yes, there is a lack of robustness in the MC dumping and restoration system. Probably not because there are real bugs, but because of the lack of error handling code.

    @SP193

Your FMCB works just fine with the cheap 64MB Chinese MC's!
The only thing i need to do is to wait about 10 seconds after switching off and on the PS2 to give the capacitors some
    time to discharge.

But one problem is annoying, i can not copy over a large amount of data during the first Multi install.
(This is probably a well known bug, but i just mention it).
To fix this, i just need to install your FMCB as you provided it and then i copy all the other stuff over to the MC.
About 40MB (which takes quite some time to paste it to the dedicated folders).

But it is much easier to handle than with the old FMCB, thanks a lot!
Next month i will try if it works also on some other foreign consoles (i mean the MC's i crerated on my old PAL PS2's).

    Great work too!

just run the new installer from usb.

it would be wise to have a backup memcard with older fmcb installed. just in case something goes wrong.

You mean external ELFs? Place them in the APPS folder.

    Hi,

I was wondering is it works well on 90004 console? I saw a post, that you need to do BIOS downgrade in order to get it working. So my question is Do I need to do some additional things to my ps2 (90004) in order to have it softmoded with 1.8c? If need to do something, could you say what and how? I would be grateful.
