My new SCPH-10000 unit didn't boot FMCB v1.8C either - because the current version of the installer does not support the first SCPH-10000 properly. (I need to update the installer)
Use your SCPH-90006 to copy BIEXEC-SYSTEM/osdmain.elf on your memory card as BIEXEC-SYSTEM/osdsys.elf.

Hi guys:
I tried to install the 0.93B version in a SCHP-5500 (US PS2 FAT) / 8Mb original Sony MC, but I get a error Code 22
please help me!
Regards!
maybe try a different usb device
-22 Invalid argument. I don't remember whether it'll even appear, but it could indicate a bug in the installer.
from here

Is how all good gaming systems came to beTry again, after removing and re-inserting your memory card. If that doesn't work, copy the contents of your card onto a USB storage device before formatting the card and attempting to install FMCB again on it. Move your data back onto the card afterwards.
You may also want to try another memory card.
I'll make a tentative release to fix support for the first SCPH-10000 soon, as rewriting the UI will take me quite a while. @@

I originally planned this as a tentative release, but I ended up fixing and improving the program by quite a bit.
Changes since v0.93B:
- Rewrote the MCTOOLs EE-side RPC client. Since libpad may cause crashes if the pad DMA buffer is stored on the stack, it means that it's impossible for GCC to ensure that buffers on the stack are aligned to 64-byte boundaries even with the ALIGNED directive.
All parameters passed to the RPC server on the IOP are now written to a shared transmission buffer.- Increased the size and alignment of all buffers to 64-bytes, where SifWriteBackDataCache() will be used with them. This is to ensure that weird behaviour resulting from DCache flushes do not ever appear.
- Changed the compilation parameters for the MCTOOLs and SECRMAN RPC server modules. Turned optimization level down to O2 to prevent bugs from being introduced through overly aggressive optimization, and enabled usage of the gp register.
- Added a free space check.
- Modified the DeleteCrossLinkedFiles() and CreateCrossLinkedFiles() functions, to support more than 6 cross-linked files.
- Compatibility for the first SCPH-10000 unit should now be restored. mc:/BIEXEC-SYSTEM/osdsys.elf is now an additional cross-linked file.
- ExecOSD() has been replaced with Exit(). By right, the CRT should call Exit(), but it seems like the homebrew CRT is buggy and crashes instead.
Since the caching and crosslink file manipulation code has been modified, it's highly recommended that you make a backup of your memory card before trying this installer.
Older versions of the unofficial FMCB v1.8C installer may not be able to uninstall multi-installations made by this installer properly, due to a design flaw in those versions. Previously, only 6 cross-linked files will be created and handed. This version creates 7 crosslinked files.
Actually, I think that this problem would have already occurred when uninstalling multi-installations made with the FMCB v1.8b installer, as the old FMCB v1.8b installer creates a lot more crosslinked files than required (If I'm not mistaken, it creates 8 of them).
Well, I think that the Sony MCMAN was quite well designed to prevent corruption from occurring under such conditions.
So yea, the warning about mass corruption occurring when a crosslinked file is deleted may be an overstatement, but it doesn't hurt to be careful...
(Wow, finally, I don't have to feel so worried about causing the destruction of the saves of many innocent people!)

Is how all good gaming systems came to beOh wait... you went to wipe the links in all my posts on this thread? @@
I was actually referring to the first post since it has v0.90 and v0.91 attached to it as attachments, and not so much that it has links anyway (The links should be dead by now anyway).
Anyway, thanks!
