    I have got a used slim PS2 not long ago for a really cheap price. It's not modded.
    Version 79001.

    My old console is 50008 model, and it's modded.
    And since FMCB doesn't support cross region installation I can't run anything but original DVD's on slim console.

    Is there even a little possibility that FMCB will support cross install feature in future versions?

    And one more question:

    Will the PSX exploit (one that involves using of original PSX disc as a trigger disc) work on my slim console?

    Sorry for asking questions that have already been asked hundred times.

    Not entirely true.

    1. It is possible to have dual region setups. but you'll need a console of each region that you want to install, and of course the usb stick.

    Scenario:

    Lets say we are installing FMCB on the same memory card, but for both a USA system and a U.K. system.

    Process:

    A) Install FMCB on USA system. then boot to uLaunchELF and PSU paste FMCB's save folder. It will be a BADATA-EXEC or something like that. Once done with backing up the save as a PSU, delete the folder on teh MC.

    B) Install FMCB the same way on the U.K. system as you did on the USA system. but dont delete it this time. it will have a BEDATA-EXEC folder name (or something like that. ) note that like the independence exploit, A will always be usa, E will always be european, I will be jap, and so on. Don't power down the system. go in to uLE and restore the PSU save. This way you will have both the BADATA and BEDATA folders on the MC. both will share the SYS-CONF folder and the USB modules. and you will have working fmcb installs for dual regions.

    yes it's a pain, but it's a workaround.

    2. yes FMCB is cancelled out by Sony on the newest slim's. the SCPH-9000x with bios revision 230. The system will most likely have a datecode of 8c. All slims made before it will work with fmcb.

    The problem is that I don't have modded NTSC system. And no one of my friends have it either.

    My slim console datecode is 7c.
    But actually I've asked about PSX exploit and not about FMCB.

    Anyway thanks for answer.

    Nope, the PS1-Exploit will not work on Slims.

    Crossregion-Install might be possible.
    Maybe we can also get rid of some limitations sometime...

    Well, at least there's a possibility.

    Jepp, but I only think cross-region pre-install MIGHT be possible (installing FMCB for other Regions.).
    It is not possible to have a cross-region-install, due to the mentioned Folder-Naming-Limitations and one KELF ever is restricted to one Region (at least from what I know... ^^).

    @Bootleg: "B?EXEC-SYSTEM"?

    B?EXEC-SYSTEM is for the OSD-Upgrade and B?DATA-SYSTEM is the folder, where the PS1-Exploit-TITLE.DB is located at (even, if it wasn´t planned especially for the exploit...), so it is not the same.

    @ belforrr - I was only using usa and uk regions as examples. pick your own two regions.

    @ TnA - I'm doing all this from memory. so I don't remember exactly what the physical name of the folder is exactly. only that it is coded much like the ps1 exploit.

    @TnA and Bootlegninja:
    It is possible to have FMCB installed for up to three different regions on a single MC, by using all three of the possible installation folders:
    "BAEXEC-SYSTEM", "BEEXEC-SYSTEM" and "BIEXEC-SYSTEM"

    But it is not possible to choose freely which region to use with which folder, as each MG-region will allow only one of those folders to be used. And since there are many more MG-regions than three, it will never be possible to support all regions with a single MC.

    @belforrrr:
    Your fat modded PS2 can not in any way help with the installation of FMCB for you slim console, since cross-region installs are not at this time possible, regardless of the potential possibilities for the future.

    This leaves you in the same position as all the users with just a single unmodded console for which they want to install FMCB. So you have the same install options that they do.

    If you don't have any of the needed boot discs (SwapMagic etc), and no taste for 'disc swapping' (like I don't have), then your best option may be to use the free installation service (check the 'stickies' at the top of the thread list of this forum).

    Best regards: dlanor

    wasn't insinuating that they could choose the folder names. but only that it could be done. I only couldn't remember exact names due to running off memory only and provided an example scenario.
