    Hi there,

I have some trouble getting my PS2 slim modded. I tried following numerous tutorials but I get stuck at the step where you have to swap the copy for the real disc.

I blocked the 3 sensors and the original game spins just fine with the PS2 open... but when I swap for the burned dvd, the music of the menu of NFS2 stops and when I choose "online" the whole thing just blocks.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Extra info:
    - I used FUJIFILM DVD+R
    - On my USB stick I only have "noobie package" folder.
    - I managed to change the original ISO of UNDERGROUND2 fine, but since the laptop on which I changed the ISO is rather old I placed the new ISO on my mac and just burned the new ISO on the DVD by left clicking the file and selecting "Burn UNDERGROUND2(dot)ISO on disc"

PS2's dont like DVD+R very much. you need a good quality DVD-R , Verbatim's have been suggested as good disks. and burn at 1/2 the max speed of the disk. i.e. if the disks ar 16x then burn at 8x. i dont know if imgburn has a MAC version but that is the recomended burning program. damn it doesnt just checked. it will run in wine if you have a linux box.......

I reburned the disc using IMGburn. I tried the swap 4 times now, it seems like when I swap at the main-menu the music stops for a second and then restarts again with the new copy of NFS2. So that sounds ok, and then I go to "online" and "add/edit", but when I press X there... the PS2 goes blackscreen and then it asks me to put in a ps2 disc again :s

I can feel that I'm close to getting this working but dam these errors

Thank you so much for the help btw! you guys rock!

Just burn at 16x if your burner can do it right. 8x is for those that can't.

It's a trial-and-error thing: Find the highest speed that your burner can burn reliably at.

the folders on the USB should be ......

    noobie-1.jpg

    noobie-2.jpg

you need the Two files highlighted in blue in the root of the USB stick.

and in the install folder you need the files highlighted.

what file did you swap into your game? if it was BOOT.ELF ( i.e. uLE ) then once it runs then start fmcb installer........

    I swapped NTGUI(dot)ELF from the UNDERGROUND2(dot)ISO

I followed several tutorials... none seem to work... starting to think it's just not possible with NFSU2 since other people reported the same problem. After the switch I can still play the game like normal, but when I go to "online" and then "New/edit" and press X, the PS2Slim asks me to put in a playstation 2 disc ...
