I have tried many different methods to install FMCB and ended up trashing my first ps2 and I went out and bought a SCPH 30000 R and a copy of swapmagic 3.8 NTSC version.
I followed the tutorial here http :// freemcboot . info /swapmagic. html and I inserted my fat 32 usb drive into the ps2 usb drive and booted up the swapmagic disc and each time I boot it up it freezes on a black screen after the Playstation 2 logo shows up.
Can anyone help me with my problem?
I've tried everything else and failed with each method

How about booting Swapmagic without any USB devices inserted? If it does boot, it means that your USB device is probably incompatible as the USB drivers used by Swapmagic are quite unreliable with certain USB devices.

If Swapmagic cannot boot at all, it could be either a problem with your console's laser or your Swapmagic disc is faulty.

Thank you so much! I opened up my ps2 and used swapmagic to swap the swapmagic disc with a disc with all the files on it and it booted right up. i've tested and so far every single one of my back-up games work.
