Swap Magic 3.8 Free MCboot install help
Swap Magic 3.8 Free MCboot install help –
07-18-2012,09:20 PM
I recently got Swapmagic 3.8 I ordered. So I tried to install Free Mboot but i can never get to the Ulaunch elf screen. The screen either goes black or it goes to the swap magic menu. I put all the right stuff in the folders and named the stuff correctly. (also my Ps2 has trouble reading both discs but i eventually get it to work)
My console is SCPH-39001 and the USB im using is sandisk cruzer 8gb

Think I know the problem if everything is correctly named sandisk has its own software and must be removed to work with usb so either go to their site and get removal tool and try again or different usb stick and make sure the uninstaller is for that model sandisk wrong one might mess up the usb stick

Also make sure you have FAT32 file format system; I'm pretty sure that's something you need.

as the previous replies have said , if your Sandisk USB has the U3 software on it you MUST remove it to use in a PS2.
also if there is more than 1 partition on the USB the install MUST be on the FIRST partition.
the SWAPMAGIC folder MUST be in capitals
a copy of BOOT.ELF must be renamed to SWAPMAGIC.ELF in capitals and placed in the SWAPMAGIC folder
if it does not work still check that the USB is formatted to FAT32, if it still does not work try a smaller USB i.e 1G or less. i use a 128Mb stick i have had for ages and it has never failed in over 100 installs.

I finally Got it to work by putting the install folder inside the Swapmagic folder. I tried this on my 4gb Coby Mp3 player. Now I play my ps1 backups....Here I come Guardians Crusade.

ahh hate to the say bad new but PS1 games are not working with FMCB the emulator that will allow playing of PS1 games is not finished and has bugs
not unless you are going to try the swap method and it will do damage to most ps2 systems
