    Hello mate.

I once had a slim console and tried various hacks and brought the AR Max disk and could not get it to work, my work around was due to the fact my Dad owned a PHAT PS2, i used the Free Mcboot hack on the PHAT and then used the PS2 Memory card in my slim and this worked, displaying the custom menu and allowing me to use uLaunch ELF and ESR.

Id strongly recommend getting a PHAT though because the slim is just hard work, Hardly no home-brew worked for me what so ever and I tried various emulators and even the codebreaker cheat ELF.

if you don't have access to a PHAT PS2 try to borrow one off a friend other than that I don't think there is a way to do it without money, hope I helped.

Well, I'm trying to swap disk right now, but I can't get it open, and I don't want to open it and break it.

Sorry to tell you xTay but that model you will have to get swap magic or mod chip The Big S decided to remove boot from Memory card in bios on that model so that is all you have left to get backups to work.
