Greetings, I'm new to the PS2 homebrew and I don't want much really. I'm planning on purchasing a Codebreaker so that I can use it as a boot method.

My question is what application would I use to let me play imported games without installing anything else really? I'd also like one that would allow me to play the game with just my flash drive (perhaps if I took the ISO from the disk and put it on the flash drive?)

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Original imorts from disc, won´t work without swapping.
Imports backed-up as ESR-Discs should work with most games.
For starting Homebrew read about FMCB here, for installing games on USB-Device search for USB-Util and for playing games from USB look at the USB-Loader-Thread.

The link didn't work, I assume you meant this link. I've been reading that link and I'm planning on using the codebreaker method.

So you're saying that I'd have to do the swap discs method if I was planning on using the actual disk? I'm gonna read into the USB-Loader-Thread you mentioned then, I'd rather avoid to do any physical things to my PS2.

    Yes, I used a .org-ending first. ^^
    Fixed it in my post.

Yes, original imports need to be swapped.
If you ESR-backup them, you don´t need to swap these ESR-Discs.

    Btw.: PS2-SCPH? Which game?

I have a fat PS2, numbered 39001. I'm planning on getting King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match. I may also in the future try out the Final Mixes, but for now I'm focusing on KoF.

Sorry for the bump, but I've got two more questions. If I wanted to add USB Advance to my initial install, would I just put it with the ESR, HDLoader and other elfs? And I've decided to use the Swap Magic method instead, would a Sandisk flashdrive work with that?

Those videos will be very useful, but is it possible to just place the USBAdvance elf with all of the noobie package's elf files and when I use the swap disk boot method, it'd automatcally install with them? If not, I'll have to remove it.

EDIT: Boy, I'm sorry for all of these questions, but I was curious if with all these apps, can any of them transfer a PS1 savedata to the PC and back?

Take a look at the advanced FMCB-Tutorials at www.freemcboot.info .
If you place ELF-Files into the same dir ("INSTALL"), where BOOT.ELF, ESR.ELF,... are, it is copied to the MC into the BOOT-Folder.
There is also the APPS-Folder, where you can put any file(-type) into.

But if you add any additional apps beside those in the nooby-package, you will need an external pre-configured CNF in the "FMCB_CFG"-Folder, since those files are not automatically linked.
...or you configure your CNF after you´ve installed all, but than it is no auto-install.

Many thanks! I am just very nervous about this whole installation (I don't want to ruin my memory card as I only have one and between purchasing a swap magic for booting, I have no money for an extra memory card.) Only my PS1 save data question remains now.

EDIT: I found a CNF on this forum and I edited it to include the USBAdvance. If anybody could tell me if this is customized right I'd appreciate it:
