    Hello,

I purchased a ps2 fat to replace my old one, which has a broken tray and lens.

I installed Free McBoot just fine using my new PS2 (used the multi installation). But when I restart my PS2 with the mcboot MC, the screen does nothing but blackscreen, with the occasional flickers. It starts up fine when it's not inserted.

When I insert the mcboot MC in my old broken PS2, it works fine and loads everything. I would like to know what's wrong with Free McBoot on my new PS2, and how to fix it.

My ps2 are the same version; both an scph-30004 PAL.

I am certain that my new PS2 is not modded.

Your 'newer' PS2 fails on decrypting the OSDSYS-Update/MC-KELF.

You either have an issue with your dummies/links (multi-install) not beeing patched, or another issue which causes the MC-KELF-Decryption to fail.

Are you really really absolutely sure that the new console really doesn't have a mod chip? It sounds odd that a console of the same model will cause a BSOD.

Have you tried plugging the FMCB-installed MC into the other slot of your new console?
Is there a disc in the drive of the console? Remove the disc if there is one in there (Might cause slow bootups if the console has difficulty reading discs).

Oh, and remove any inserted USB devices (Just in case it was a USB device causing a crash/freeze somehow).

I opened the case, no chips.

Also (I just found this out), when I use my codebreaker disc inside my ps2, and my usb stick (containing the files I got from http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials...odebreaker.php) will occasionally load to the mcboot browser UI, or occasionally to SMS. The applications I got in the Noobie Package all seem to work just fine.

This is not the case with freemcboot on my 'old' ps2, which will just load fine without any optical media or USB sticks.

So the MC still also loads on the other model, but not on the newer one.
    It shouldn't be a MC-Corruption-Issue, but you also might try 'MC-Annihilator v2'...
Maybe your files are simply very fragmented...

Also I suggest you to try the newer FMCB-Nooby-Installpackage (2011-Version) from here -->
