Scph-90002 9a!

Hi there, I just bought a PS2 yesterday and was having a look at how to mod this thing. I'd prefer a softmod because it is cheaper than me asking somebody to chip the PS2 for me because I have no knowledge in that area.

I have realized my console is SCPH-90002 9A meaning January 2009 I assume? Does anyone know where or what I can use to mod this console in Australia? Thanks.

I will get my memory card shipped in sometime next week and hoping to use FMCB although I don't know how I will get the stuff onto the memory card.

khaz0r know this, cybergod had to use the servce himself to get fmcb installed. He is still classified as too new and inexperienced enough on homebrew to be listed as an official installer. to my knowledge, he has yet to do a successful install himself. My official advice is to go through an official installer via the FMCB install thread.

cybergod, do not advertise again. if I have to tell you again, I assure you will not like the repercussions.

Bootlegninja, do you know if the FMCB will work on my console? That is what I am worried about. I wouldn't mind sending my memory card to someone to do it for me and paying shipping on it but I would like some assurance that it will work on the 9A model.

PM me, i can try to help you. where in Australia are you? how new is this console? is it brand new? if it is FMCB may not work if it has newest bios. this cant be found on the browser screens. it might be a case of trying it and see if it works... if not all you lose is a few dollars postage..any way send me a pm or check the first post s there are two of us in aust installing.

Also, I came across http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials...r_dummies.html Is any information missing from there which may prevent me from attempting this myself? I have an issue with the tutorial though. It says to transfer those files on my usb. I assume the next step is to plug in the usb into one of the USB ports on the PS2. Then I am stuck again on how to get the files from the USB into the Memory card...

if you set it up as in the tutorial or use the noobie package which has the files in the correct folders then free_mcboot will do all the work for you. once installed and working you use uLe to copy any other files from the usb to mc....
what method are you going to use to get uLe started so you can install FMCB??

no probs...i use the swapmagic method myself....and have installed for quite a few people as well. it is cheaper to send the MC to me than to buy a disk that you will use only once...
try target for a memory card. they have a 16 meg card that works quite well. it was only $19.95 as well....
i have FMCB installed on an 8 Meg card put in slot 2 and the 16 meg for game saves in slot 1...
