    ^ topic.

Hello. I am in the process of reinstalling FMCB because I wanted to reformat my Sony 8MB memory card upon realizing that it only had 7,534 KB after 'manually' deleting ALL data.

I have successfully done so using the Datel Memory Manager. So everything appears to be fine and dandy up to this point.

Now, I was just wondering whether or not it is required to install that SMS media player elf file when installing FMCB? Because it would save me about 700+ KB for more important things like more game saves.

And if it's not required, is it as simple as deleting it from the install folder before proceeding with the fresh install of FMCB?

    Thanks!

None of the "standard" ELFs are actually required to be installed to the MC to boot FMCB, if you want you can keep them all on a USB drive and run them from there. I do always recommend at least putting uLE on the MC, as it's very handy and would be always usable even if something happened to your USB drive suddenly. uLE 4.42a is only 440KB as found in the install packages.
