A question about Swap Magic3
A question about Swap Magic3 –
I've bought a Swap Magic3 USA version yesterday, and have tried it, and it didn't work. My only question is: does Swap Magic3 USA version work with Europe PS2 console, because i've bought it in Germany, its not modified in any possible way. In case any one is wandering, why did I buy USA version when I have Europe version, answer is simple, I didn't know it was USA version, and I didn't know it made any difference anyway.
No. That combination will not work. The main reason why Swap Magic exists is because all PS2 consoles perform a validity check of all discs to be booted. This is partly to ensure that all game discs are original, not burned copies, and partly to ensure that the game is made for the same region as the console. (Sony forbids all contracted retailers from selling PS2 products outside of the intended regions. (Though some ignore that.))

So your US Swap Magic discs will fail to boot on a European console because those discs are not made for that region.
This is a fairly common misunderstanding, but regardless of the reasons those SM discs will not be useful with the console you have. For that you need the european SM version.

Thanks for all the help dlanor. I will contact a guy, whom I bought it from, and tell him to swap these discs with the European version.
