PSX games are those different from PS2 games?

PSX is a PS2 with DVR http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_(DVR)

No they're not different, PSX is just a PS2 with additional extra hardware. That's it.

Good question, I am curious about this too.

There are several PSX models, I know of these: DESR-5000, DESR-5100, DESR-7000, DESR-7100, DESR-7500, DESR-7700, I am not sure which PS2 models these PSX models correspond to.

It won't work I think, I'm looking at the bios of a DESR-5000 and I don't see any of the "usual suspects"...
I think ^^MaX^^ is talking about PS1 (aka PS-X) homebrew.
