Try the image command first, see if it can unlock the card and dump it...

Basically if the VID/PID are correct I don't see why it would not work.

It should report:
-That the tool allows you to do whatever you want with the files stored on the memory card. (Copy files from or to, delete, create folders etc ...)
-That you can write to or read from full VMC images.
-That you can even unformat/undelete files from the memory card (the tool does not handle images yet)


-That it comes with a "beta" of a new FMCB payload. Mention that it has no installer yet for the PS2 itself but it will be made eventually.

About the new FMCB payload you should mention that it:
-Contains protokernel fixes (SCPH-10000/15000 memory clear issues with ExecPS2, fixes ESR and COGSWAP on these consoles)
-100% SONY free, it's now legal to distribute the KELF without worries of it being plagued by SONY code
-Region free, can be signed in ANY PS2 for ANY region, only required to be bound to the Memory Card and that's a requirement of the PS2, not the file.


Bonus:

For people who want to use the BETA FMCB payload with the PS2 but do not have the MC adapter, it can be bound to a MC manually (on the PS2 itself) with this tool:
It will create the KC/Kbit for the file and the specific memory card that is connected to port 1. After that you need to inject the KC/Kbit data manually onto the file using an hex editor.

And obviously this tool was made by Jimmi back when we were analyzing the possibility of the FreeVAST thing.

Well, I try to add some stuff and make a sample-post.
And I thought, Jimmi allready considers this to be like FMCB1.8c-Loader.

To be honest: If Jimmi integrates multi-region-install for the (PS2-)FMCB-Installer and the newer loader, it is allready worth a FMCB 1.9-Title (just because of it's region-compatibility-improvement thought).

Update: The MC2USB-Tools called 'PS3MCA-TOOL v1.3' which were released yesterday by our valued PSX-Scene-Developer&Moderator Jimmikaelkael and an anonymous hacker/source, along with the 'FMCB 1.8c-Loader' actually grants FULL ACCESS TO PS2 MEMORYCARDS!

So beside being able to create multi-region-installs and those other features you can see at the other news-post, there are also these features (as of yet) already integrated:

-Get MC-Info
-Get free MC-Space
-Dump&Write binary MC-Image (Virtual MC-Images used in 'OPL'!!!)
-Format/Unformat MC
-Basic file- and directory-creation&access (read/write files and folders from/to it + delete/undelete files and folders)

About the FMCB-Loader it comes with:

-Compared to the FMCB 1.8/1.8b-Loader (the same in both versions), this one comes with the feature of fixing the Protokernels (a 'memory clear issues' with the ExecPS2-Call) on old consoles during runtime [when it/FMCB is started].
This fixes a few programms, which are normally incompatible to those Versions, like ESR and Cogswap.

-The generated KELF is 100% SONY-Free! That means, we can provide pre-encrypted 'Disc-KELFs' legally and everyone can re-sign them for their MCs to 'MC-KELFs' by these tools.
That's thousand times better especially for those who install it for others, since the KELF previously were re-signed DVDPlayer-KELFs from the PS2s ROM.

-Multiregion-Install is now possible from any PS2 for all regions!


There is no PS2-side Homebrew-Programm a.k.a. new 'FMCB-Installer' currently supporting those new features, but Jimmikaelkael announced that he might work on it in his free time...

Will FMCB installed via this method work on a PSX DVR? I don't see myself getting hold of one in the near future but it'd be good to know just in case the chance to get one at a good price presents itself.
