I just got a PS2 (v12?) SCPH-70000 (Japanese model) and I was wondering if I could buy/use the memory card adaptor model B000JKXC6A (from Sony)? I cannot post a link but you cant find it looking for メモリーカードアダプター on amazon(dot)co(dot)jp

That "B000JKXC6A" is Amazon's ASIN, not the Sony model#. Btw, that looks like the legit Sony one, but you must email and confirm with the suppliers you want to buy from to be sure, lot's of stupidity on Amazon.

ok so i have a fat ps2 and a sony official memory catd adaptor and official sony 8gb mc magicgate, when i follow the tutorial from hacksden, all i get is cannot format error, and since every other tutorial can find just has links to that one icant do crap, getting super frustrated

Sounds like you have either one or a combination of the following:
1. You got a bad memory card (Physically damaged/worn out).
2. You got a compatible memory card.
3. You got a compatible memory card adaptor.

Hi everyone my name is Rave , I found out about ps2 modding some time ago when i did i was happy to find out that my ps2 was a 77001 series (hackable) so i got 007 nightfire and made a disk with the ulaunch elf on it, after allot of failed attempts to load the game and learning that my ps2 had lost all dvd playback and could only run cd based games eg blue disks and psx games, attempts to clean the laser did nothing, so i set out to buy a ps2 laser to hack it but then i thought if i buy a laser its a waste because i would end up hooking up a hdd for backups anyways and never use it after the hack. so i stumbled upon an an article about the memory card reader and decided to buy one, needless to say my grandmother bought the wrong one i have read allot of this topic and no one mentions the mayflash ps3 memory card adapter , the drivers installed fine but the memory card reader is not detected by the program, i dont know if there is a way to trick it or not also i found the vendor id and product id in case that helps. i really don't want to buy another reader or a laser. so any help is appreciated

nope, this way works only with the original MC adapter.....

Original ones have MagicGate Encryption and due to this fact can do more things than a clone.

I downloaded the attachments from the OP and I have an official sony ps3 mmc reader. I checked out the readme file but couldnt figure out what to do from there and I'm new to using programs via CLI. I know how to use cmd and stuff I just haven't used it to command a program before. I would really appreciate it if someone could walk me through this so I can get fcm on my memory card and lead me to some ps2 glory! lol
