Does this mean it's now small enough for us to be able to include the bigger HDD modules? so us FAT users can load ELF's off the HDD without using uLE? is a standalone ELF installer available yet with the traditional method?

This sentence on it's own is unlogical...
The FMCB-Loader i even a bit bigger... Just the MC-KELF is now smaller.
Due to the new MC-KELF-Method, it nearly if not exactly as big as the non-encrypted ELF/FMCB-Loader...

so us FAT users can load ELF's off the HDD without using uLE?
    That's technically possible...

First off,... It is only the support, which isn't implemented into the ELF-Loader, which hinderes FMCB's loader from loading ELFs from HDD.
In theory it is even possible to accomplish that with the old KELF&Signing-Method...
We even could have used big DVDELF.bin(s), so that's not the problem...

It's more a matter of doing it...

is a standalone ELF installer available yet with the traditional method?
Why should there even be a newer installer with the traditional MC-KELF-Method, but with a newer loader only?
Then the loader could be provided as EMBED.ELF/Non-Encrypted ELF only...

That must be the same Datel adapter which I have, and for which I've made several experiments and tests as requested by jimmikaelkael (handled by email, not here).

So far we've not had any real success with it...

So at present the method still only works with the original Sony adapters.

Checking those ID codes is not enough.

The Datel adapter I have uses exactly the same PID/VID as the original Sony device, but it does not work the same way.
I believe the PID/VID codes may have to be identical for all adapters of this kind, in order for a PS3 to accept them.
And they must also share that part of their protocol used by the PS3 in transferring gamesaves.

But the parts of the protocol dealing with how the unit is controlled by a PC seem very different.
At least they are different enough that jimmi has not yet been able to make his methods work with the Datel adapter I have.
(They have worked in part, for some MCs, but not consistently for all MC types.)

    Best regards: dlanor

For months ago i had read a thread how patching a bluetooth-driver with an other dongle (for my car-pc).
And that was my idea (VID/PID) entry in config-file for my memory-card-adapter....
But that dont work with the "snakebyte"-adapter
The good thing is i payed 5€ for this adapter, so it makes me not so sad.....

The second adapter from Datel is on the way......
But how dlanor writes it dont works too....... 9€ in the wind too.....

So spending 14€ in the wind for 2 adapter let me stay cool, cause i saw some sites they sell only the snakebyte adapter for 23€.....
