PS2 Swap trick with PS1 disk

Does anyone know, is it possible to use a PS1 disk in place of the PS2 disk in the swap trick?

You would only be able to play PS1 games if you used a PS1 disc for the swap trick. In order to play PS2 backups you need PS2 games. Keep in mind that if the PS2 game is on a CD, you must use a PS2 original on a CD that has the same or larger Table of Contents than the game you want to play. The same goes for PS2 games on DVDs. You cannot use a PS2 game on a CD to play a PS2 backup on a DVD or you will ruin the laser. The same is true for the reverse. For PS2 games your best bet is to get Swap Magic. I have never had a problem with it and it comes with both a CD boot disc and a DVD boot disc. It can't play games that require a DVD-DL like Rock Band.

Well, I kind of have to do this with my $0 budget lol. I have 3 Cabela's games and a Naruto for the PS2, CD-R's and DVD+R DL and a 16GB USB flash drive. I'm hoping I can assemble the pieces to get Free MCBoot on one of my memory cards.

Well I ended up ordering a game that was on the list of confirmed games for the swap trick. Now hopefully it won't have a problem seeing as i only have DVD-R DL.
