Hi i have a version 2.0 swap magic cd & dvd set which i used on my v3 pal ps2 back in the day, that console is now no longer with us (it's DEAD), so i recently got a ps2 slim preowned and i was wondering can i use my Version 2.0 swap discs cos i know they are up to 3.8 now, to install FMCB and ESR? (note i am willing to dismantle and hold down switch or whatever needs doin)

also if this is not possible if i do find a fat ps2 somewhere can i install to mem card on that and use it on my slim?

make a disc image of the FMCB installer and it's folders with uLE as BOOT.ELF in the INSTALL folder.

burn it. run it. and enjoy.

Both types of ps2's read the same kind of media so I would say yes (Not from personal experiance). The version is only a update to the program not the discs its printed on.
