Hello,last month i bought a ps2,a friend had free mcboot on his memory card and was playing Persona Fes.I tought it was perfect no chipping the ps2 so i went out and bought one,when the time to try out the memory card came,not his or mine worked.I heard a week later that it was because of the system,is there any chance to "boot in my ps2 version?i bought so far 5 games,but with ps2 dying its hard even to find final fantasy X.

:wow::wow:I wouldn't say the PS2 is dying, mabye some games are getting harder to find. But this site and many other like it ( beg to differ ) that the PS2 is more ALIVE now then it was 10 years ago. My advice would be : check local flea markets, or pawn shops for older models of PS2. I see them all the time. DJQuote:

it has way too many great games to offer, even if there is rarely anything new coming.
if you cannot find ffx, i'd say you must be quite unlucky, or looking in the wrong place. this game is actually pretty easy to find via auction sites, but that probably depends on the country you live in.
My suggestion:
Most game stores that sell used consoles will honor a request for a specific model number if they happen to have such a unit in stock. And with the overwhelming popularity of the PS2 and the not-so-recent arrival of the PS3, it's basically a given that every store is going to have a wide selection of various models available. Every city has its second-hand stores -- just walk in during offpeak hours and ask for a PS2 with a model number starting with SCPH-7. You would also get more money for your 9-series PS2 at these stores than you would at, say, GameStop.
If you want an official copy of a specific PS2 game that wasn't released recently (as in, past 3-6 months), brick-and-mortar stores are almost useless. Your best bet is to look online. Not necessarily eBay -- even websites of B&M chains such as GameStop will often stock a large catalog of games that simply aren't available in the stores.
