Hey, I just finished trying Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, and it doesn't work.
Neither does SNK's Fatal Fury Battle Archives: Vol. 1

MGS did something really weird... it may have just been a burning problem, but Fatal Fury went to the red "please insert a PS2 game" screen. (it checks for authenticity a lot)

mortal kombat armageddon PAL works 100% everytime, i did it a thousand times... i replaced the NTGUIP50 and NTGUIP60 (i think the one is for pal and the other for ntsc) with the hack. and in the mainmenu i swaptrick to the copy, then start the network options, when ur asked to make a new networksetting and you confirm, thats when the exploit is beeing startet. works everytime. (i have a fat ps2)

    MGS 3: Snake Eater NTSC
    SLUS 20915
-Followed tutorial and used "915196 byte" ulaunch file version.
*Note: Select "Special" from main screen swap disc then select Camouflage Download".
-Burned one disc to use for exploit swap "Memorex DVD-R at 12x" on both PS2 models

-Confirmed to work on V4 PS2"Fat" worked on first try.
-Confirmed not to work on V15 PS2"Slim" Continuously got a black screen with "Disc/?" in upper left corner.

Since swap worked on first try on PS2 V4"fat" just see if you can borrow one to use from a friend. I forgot that had the old version in storage. im currently using the memory car on the slim PS2 now and it works.

Im trying to install uLaunch.elf with From Russia With Love (PAL). I used Imgburn to create an .iso file of the retail dvd on my pc. When I used Apache v1.1 to look for NFS.ELF inside the .iso, I couldn't find it! o_0

In the root of the .iso I only see a folder and some files.
    SYSTEM.CNF
    SLES_535.53
    BOND0.VIV
    BOND1.VIV
and a folder "MODULES" with inside:
    IOPRP300.IMG
    LIBSD.IRX
    MCMAN.IRX
    MCSERV.IRX
    MTAPMAN.IRX
    PADMAN.IRX
    SIO2MAN.IRX
    SNDDRV.IRX

I read the tutorial thoroughly but I can't see what I'm doing wrong. Is there no NFS demo on my 007 Game?

I dont have a PS2 (yet). Im getting my PS2 Silver slimline SCPH-75000 tomorrow. I thought i could prepare the installation of FMCB. So I borrowed From Russia With Love from a friend....

I have my PS2! But From Russia With Love has no NFS demo on it. So I cannot use this to boot uLaunch.elf? Damn.

Just like to confirm that the official Sony Network Access Disc also works. I bought the Network Adapter off eBay and luckily it comes with the Network Access Disc.

There's 4 ELF (executable) files on the CD so I just replaced all the ones that were not in root CD.

I followed the tutorial on the PS2 swap exploit and it works.

WHAT did you after you burned that modified cd?

i replaced 3 elf files (like you said (one i left ntouched, the one at root))
but when i start original NAD and then want to change CD i get message:

"Drive opened. Close and Restart PS2"

i got ps2-slim if that is the problem

i also got a ratchet and clank 3 demo on my sly2 disc. i replaced all 4 elfs but that also fails because it dooesnt READ the disc (the cd/dvd dont keep spinning...

Slim consoles need a Sensor Mod done, just do a search for it, as i dont know it off-hand.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

I've been meaning to post about the Network adapter startup disc for a while now. Via replacing the "FRQNETDM.ELF" file in the FREQ sub folder, booting the original to menu, swapping and launching the Frequency demo I have had success with the disc (SCUS97097) with two separate V4 PS2s and failure with one V9. V9 gave "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc" error. Media was SONY-D21-00 DVD+R, same original and modified discs on all three units. When I popped the modified disc in my drive just now to look at it I notice it is not booktyped to DVD-ROM but remains as DVD+R, IsoBuster shows the file is replaced in ISO file system and not UDF. I don't have access to a V9 anymore to determine if maybe the booktyping is the problem for it or perhaps it is just rechecking the DVD where the V4s aren't.
