For those who managed to use FIFA 2006 or FIFA 2008 - do you have LAN/network hardware in your PS2?

Will this trick work if it is tried on a PS2 without network hardware, ie will we be allowed to "Add/Edit" an new account even if we don't have any network/LAN hardware?

I tried to use "JAK Combat Racing" and I got stuck after selecting "LAN" with an error message: "No suitable network hardware was detected. You will be unable to play online."

Any guidance would be appreciated on this!

well i donīt have any network hardware ( sadly D: )
    I followed these steps:
    - first i choose play online in the main menu
    - and then pop up a window saying that i donīt have any account saved in the MC
    - then i choose "go to Account Settings" option in that window
    - then another window appears and it say me that i donīt have any valid Network configuration file in the MC, and i choose the "Accept" button.
    - and appears the "Select Network Setup" window, and then I choose "New/Edit" option, the screen goes black and the ulaunchelf appears.

the game never try to connect to network D:

ps: sorry for my english :P

Reasons why you get the "Please insert bla bla bla.."

-Bad media, not compatible with your PS2 due to poor quality
-Bad burn, not properly burned due to settings or burn app not properly burning to disc
-not swapping at the proper time or not swapping quick enough before the memoery is re-set and the ps2 attempts to re-read the disc, invalidating it.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

It should also noted, that users should verify if both filesystems (ISO/UDF) of their modified ISO-Files were patched.

Hm.. Was sure I did everything right.. guess i need to test again.
How quick do I need to be?

    I tried Verbatim +R and Sony -R
Have searched for a "burn-guide" but didnt find a good one. Used ImgBurn to get the ISO and burn it.

    Got scph 70004 btw..

I forgot to add another reason for that error... its also caused by a secondary disc check when booting the ELF.

I've never tried either of those games, but it seems nobody except the OP who submitted them was able to boot uLe from those 2 games. They also didnt give any better instructions, so i dont know if theres something that is missing to make it work.

I might as well list them as NOT working until someone actually reports they got it to work.

Ok, might try MGS3 later.. and that should work since other people have used it.

But it seems like it try to launch something using SC:Chaos and SOCOM II.. the screen goes black for a sec, flickers, goes black and then flickers before the red screen comes up with the error.

Is it possible to use DVD RW? According to specs on scph 70004, DVD-RW is a supported format, but would it work with the game-swap method?

DVD RW is not a recommended media to use, since its much harsher on the PS2 to read it, but i suppose it could work.

I have also a SCPH-70004 and I'm trying for weeks now to get it working
Used also MGS3 and NFSUG2 -> exactly same error as you!

I tried Verbatim DVD-R, Fujifilm DVD- and + R, nothing worked.

Fortunatly I found a store in my country (Austria) which sells the AR MAX EVO, and ordered it

I think the slim is really not perfect for the swap trick
