hi everyone, i dont know if this is the place to post this but i found a new game swap trick... works for FAT PS2 and Slim. im gonna use an example for the fat ps2 (the one i have). ...
Finally I also was able to get FreemcBoot running using this method.
I have only one PS2 DVD, Extermination.
I replaced the main file with cogswap, and burnt to a DVD-RW.
I had to make like 4 swaps to get cogswap up and running. Then came the troubles. No matter how I've written the ulaunchELF, (CD version, wathever) to CD, DVD, the head just sit on the boot sector, and that was it. Nothing happend.
So I modified the original file once again, but with ulaunchELF this time! (and burnt to another DVD-RW)
When cogswap turnd purple, i swaped it, and voila ulaunchELF.
Regs, Szabi.

I own a Fat V9. I have tried Smack down vs. Raw 2006 (NETGUI2), NFS Underground 2 (NETGUI) and Shrek the Third (MINIGAME .ELF). All NTSC. I have had no luck getting these games to boot uLaunch. In every case, the games played like the originals, but RED SCREEN as soon as I start the modified file. I'm guessing the system rechecks the disc before it boots. I tried to do a double swaps but so far I have not been successful.
I have been trying to get this going for a month now and unfortunately, I'm finding it harder to find PS2 games in the local shops. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, it would be very helpful if the games that were confirmed working had a the PS2 Version listed that was used to test. Other than that I find these forums very useful.
Edit: If you own a V9 scph 50001, also stay away from THPS 3. I was lucky to find this game but very unlucky that, sadly, it too gave me the Red Screne when booting the Demo. I have ran all modified Isos in PCSX2 and ulaunch boots successfully.
Does any one have anything to ad? I'm looking for someone with a V9 Fat that has had success with a single swap method.

To anyone who has problems with red screen or other errors.
First study the laser movement, on newer disks the console will check the disk
If you are trying to use a .ELF file. You just have to block that from happening by
Covering the disk sector on original disk with a peace of tape, that way the ps2 will
Be able to read only the uelf on your burnt disk that you swap in.
I tried this method with a demo disk that is conformed not to work but i managed
To launch uelf on first try . Just had to swap the disk twice and WIN
There is a video by a user here using Madden a few pages back that should make it
Easier to understand. Hope this helps

Kay, i just got FMCB installed on my MC using an old PSM disk..
replaced the NFSHS2 elf and the Downforce demo's DFORCE ELF. for the swap, start the retail demo disc, load to the vault, swap disks, start game (hit X at controller layout screen for EITHER NFSHS2 or Downforce..whichever elf u replaced idc) PAY CLOSE ATTENTION. the eye will jump to the outside and back to the middle. swap to retail before the eye reads. eye will read, then move back to the outer ring. swap back before it has time to read and ULE should load up. i've been up for 48 hours straight tryin my book of ps2 games...and none are the list of compatible swap games (yet).
So yeah to sum it up:
SCPH 750001 slim (Datecode 6A)
Official US PlayStation Magazine Issue 61 Demo disk SCUS 97187
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 demo (tested and worked)
Downforce demo (tested and worked)
8MB PS2 memcard
HP DVD-R 16x max speed (written at 4x)
Edit: added SCUS 97187

Hey guys i just wanted to let you guys know that the 007 EVERYTHING OR NOTHING demo from the playstation magazine demo disc works on my slim SCOH-77001. First you need to replace the driving elf with ulaunch (i used version 4.3) and then enter the demo. From the level select screen, switch the discs with your backup then select the driving level. As soon as you select the driving level you need to study the movement of the laser and make sure your back up is in the ps2 every time the laser is on the edge and your original is in every time the laser is at the center. I had to swap the discs i think three times before ulaunch started. GOODLUCK AND TRY YOUR DEMOS!
