Does this PS2 reliably read all types of PS2 discs? Silver DVD based, Dual Layer DVD discs, and blue CD games?

For best compatibility use Taiyo Yuden, or Verbatim DVD-Rs. If that doesn't work try some DVD+Rs (same brands) booktyped to DVD-ROM.
Also why not just borrow the FMCB card you made your friend and use it to install FMCB to your card?
I'll have to try some different DVDs, the ones I've been using are DVD-Rs. I would have just used my friend's memory card had he not lived on the other side of the country now. I guess if I'm still unsuccessful that I'll have him mail it to me...
So I'm new to the whole PS2 scene...
I'm trying to use Splinter Cell Chaos Theory to do the swap trick.
I have tried the guide exactly how it says, also tried SC3_OFF.ELF replacement, as well as a PPF patch, which I'm not even sure what that does.
Every time I get the RSOD.... no matter how quick or slow I swap.... but if I use the original disc to get into the game... my modded backup works perfectly fine.
Is this possibly because I'm using a V7 PS2? Or maybe they released a newer copy of this game with more protection, the files say 2005 on the disc...
I'm going to head over to EB Games to see if they're open, I'd like to pick up 007 Agent Under Fire if they have it... and maybe a Network Adapter.
SCPH-39001 V7 PS2
DVD-R RITEKF1 disc @ 4x Burn, I understand these are actually quite good.
Tried both DVDDecrypter and IMGBurn.
8gb Kingston Datatraveller USB drive (Which doesn't matter since I can't get uLaunchELF to boot)
When I get uLaunchELF to boot I want to install FreeMCBoot.
MVP Baseball 2004 worked for me. You have to swap out NTGUI.ELF, much like the other EA sports games documented on here.
-Select "Game Modes"
-Select "MVP Online"
-Select "Create New/Edit"
-Confirm when asked and ULaunchElf will load
For the people that used games that have network related files replaced, did you have a Network Adapter installed at the time?
Game tryed to me to swap:
Shrek The Third: replacing MINIGAME.ELF whit uncompressed BOOT.EFL /// NOT WORK
The sims Bistin' Out: replacing NETGUI/ntgui_eu.elf whit uncomressed BOOT.ELF /// NOT WORK
PS2 BIOS: SCPH-77004

I've tried Madden 10 and NBA 2K8, but both failed. Like the other EA games that were mention, I used the NTGUI.ELF. I have NCCA Football 2005. Since its an old game, anyone think it may work or have tried it?
I'd also like to mention that I don't use a swap tool.
Success with 007: Agent Under Fire....
Best $10 I ever spent on a game.
Found it at a pawn shop, along with a network adapter for $15
Hello i have a PS2 (i gues is fat32, is not slim) and i tried to do the soft-mod but none of my retail games heave a .elf file and i cant find a way to load the DRIVING.ELF, if is any helping i have gta 3, gta vice city, gta san andreas, metal gear solid 2 retail games.
I saw that in those pictures from PS2 Softmod Install he replace the img file and i wounder if there is a way to replace the img with the elf or some like that, and about "SLUS_201.99" i have SLES_512.33 and equivalent name files on all disks if is possible to replace with the elf.
I'm newbie on PS subject, is the fist time i have one and play on it.

This is not a thread for asking questions, but a place where you should report definite results, which you do not have at present. So post your questions in some other thread.
Then they may be given the attention your problem deserves, but it doesn't belong in this particular thread.
