ok my ps2 just recently stop working and so i had a spare !but here's problem it won't play psx or ps2 cd games. ps2 dvd games work! plus on the ps2 menu where it says file browser and system settings there should be 5 or 6 balls spinning in a circle right! but it isn't doing that all the balls that should spin don't it's just one big ball! ok now i also had 2 laser lens that ran good in my other systems but when I switched the laser lens to this ps2 only dvd's run! so i think the bios is messed up! ...

From what I've heard, each PS2/PStwo model is compatible with a limited set of the existing laser units. The 'lenschanger' elf can't work miracles, so if you switch a laser unit into a console model which it's not intended for, you can get limited functionality, just like you describe. I'm no expert on this stuff myself, but if you mention the model numbers both of your PS2/PStwo consoles and of the laser units, I'm sure someone else can tell which of them can work together.

Btw 1: The main bios of the PS2 is not flashable, so you can't mess it up with lenschanger, but only the flashable chip used for the lens control. I hope you started out with making a backup of the original content...

Btw 2: Your question has absolutely nothing to do with the topics of this forum, so it really should have gone into a hardware-related forum instead.

    Best regards: dlanor

lol Lenschanger is a dangerous tool if the person don't know how to use it.

To diminish the risk of damage MAKE A BACKUP of the PS2 memory before messing with it.

Instructions on how to do it are on the lenschanger readme file.

ok mine didn't come with a readme file

but since there are other ways to boot cd ps2 games like usb hdd/hdd/esr or swapmagic after converting the cd to dvd
plus ffg's working on a psone emu that i may not need cd support after all!
