PS2 - Best way to play games? (Im confused)
Since my playstation 3 is not backwards compatible and i want to play playstation 2 and 1 games i got me a PS2 SCPH-39004 (FAT). (never had one)
I have a external 500GB HDD that i use for my PS3 so i want to put my ps2 backups on the same HDD.
I managed to install free MCBOOT 1.8 on my PS2. (Noobie package)
But when i try to install version 1.8C (unofficial) Things in my menu are missing like open PS2LOADER. I tried copying the "INSTALL" folder from the newbie package to the 1.8C folder and installed it again. But still no joy :(
And i still have some questions:
1: I owe a lot of PS1 games i ripped them all to .ISO files. Can i just copy them to my external USB HDD or do i need to unpack them/convert them?
2: Is it better to buy a internal HDD to play games from, i mean speed/compatibilty wise?
3: A friend has a lot of burned games, he used to swap them with swap magic and a fliptop. But my PS2 does not recouldnise it. Is that because they are not ESR patched?
4: My brother has a lot of PS2 games how do i rip them to my USB HDD? or is it better to rip them with IMG burn and put the ISO's on that disc.
Sorry for my ignorance, i know i should use the search button but i dont find a usefull FAQ anywhere. And since the PS2 is so old maybe there could be better/newer ways.
Thanks in advance
