Problems with FTP

Hi, I just recently got FMCB 1.8, and I put a 250gb harddrive in my PS2. I got it working. Put when trying to FTP ISO onto the harddrive via my router, I get stuck. I haven't really found a guide explaining this. But I download "hdl_dump_helper_gui_2.2", transferred the "hdld_svr_086.elf" and "hdld_svr_090.elf" to the PS2. I then made a "IPCONFIG.dat" file and placed it in the "SYS-CONF" folder. I could't find the PS2 with hdl dump. Then when I tried deleting the IPCONFIG.dat file I got "Delete failed". I was pretty sure I got the .dat file wrong. I then made anpother IPCONFIG.dat file and placed it in "BEDATA-system"(or something) the hdld_svr used that file (not the one I tried to delete) but it still failed. My default gateway is: "10.0.0.138" so I set up an static IP address for the PC, 10.0.0.25, and gave the PS2 "10.0.0.20"(in the IPCONFIG.dat file). When pinging 10.0.0.20 the pc finds nothing. I have uLaunchElf v4.21 btw.

Can someone please explain what i'm doing wrong, this is driving me

It sounds to me as if you are creating unnecessary problems for yourself by trying to create and place the IPCONFIG.DAT file yourself, which also creates an unnecessary risk of using incorrect filename and storage path. For example you have consistently referred to the name "IPCONFIG.dat" above, which is incorrect. The entire name must be in upper-case only, including the ".DAT" extension.

If you have a standard FMCB 1.8 setup then you already have two different tools that can create the file for you and automatically use the correct filename and storage path for it. Those two tools are the media player SMS and the generic system tool uLaunchELF (aka: uLE). Both of them have a configuration submenu for network configuration, and using that menu to create new IP settings will save the IPCONFIG.DAT file you need (inside the folder "SYS-CONF" on your MC).

Finally I suggest that you upgrade to a modern version of uLE, since the v4.21 you are using is well over a year old (2008.07.20).
