I finally got FMCB to boot from my MC (took me like a whole day, becuz I'm a noob at computer)
So I decide to get my Persona 4 on my external drive( Samsung 111gb) using this USBExtreme wininst. It gave me 5 file 00 01..etc file. I transfered all those files to the root of my external drive.

However, if I plug my external drive in the PS2 and start the PS2, it will just freeze at the FMCB loading screen. If I unplug the USB, the FMCB works fine, getting into browser screen. Then I load OpenPs2loader in my MC,it went well. It went into Loader screen (the one with game image and a running title on the upper screen). BUTTT when I plug in my external drive again, the loader freezes (the running title on upper screen stop, not run anymore).

Did I do something wrong? Please help me.

Sorry for my bad english and thanks.

oh and my PS2 is slim 75006

When FMCB freezes up with your USB disk connected, it can mean that your USB disk is not compatible or has a problem with it's filesystem. You can try to run a disk check on your disk with Windows.

If nothing changes after the disk check, you can assume that it's a problem with the USB drivers that FMCB has.

If you cannot get OPL to behave properly with the USB device, you may opt to try PS2ESDL, which was designed for USB devices: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f253/pla...-ps2esdl-63375

USB device compatibility and performance may be slightly better, but it depends on your hardware and the games you play.

one more question , what format is the external HDD? NTFS or FAT32?
PS2 has no drivers for NTFS. the disk needs to be formatted as FAT32.....

Thanks all for the help guys. I changed to another external hard drive,I did exactly the same thing as the old hard drive but anyhow it worked (yes, all are FAT32, the old hard drive even get 0% degragment while the new one still have 9%). I dk what's wrong with the old hard drive. Anyway, it works.

I still have 1 more question. Is playing on this external hard drive...dangerous? to the hard drive I mean. Is playing too long or something will destroy my external hard drive. I'm kinda scared of this becuz this hard drive is an expensive one and I just got yellow light of dead on my PS3, so I have to return to play PS2...
I tried the network way, but it does not seem to work using my wireless setup. Always give Network startup erroe 203 or something like that. Gonna try with cross cable in some day.

    Have a nice day!
