Problem with Mcboot and memory card?
-
07-23-2011,03:29 AM
I gt to the mcboot page where i formatted my memory card(8 mb sony master gate)
The MC named "Magic gate" and not "master gate"......
It all installed. Then flashed the mcboot logo a couple of times and then the screen went black.
That i dont understand what do you make here.... What and why you flashed a "mcboot logo"???
I have seen all 3 links you posted for the install, but i dont see anything to flash the mcboot logo.....
So try the "mca" (Memory-Card-Anihilator). maybe it brings yor MC back to life....

what he ment to say is that the "Free McBoot " logo flashed up on his TV screen then it went black. did you install the newbie package from this site?
if you did then you would have the latest including uLE. that youtube video showed an old version of uLE 4.11, latest is 4.42a .
it is actually included in the newbie package so you shouldnt need to download another version. dont put the files in a folder they need to be in the root so the installer can find them. so free_mcboot.elf has to be in root on the USB and the INSTALL folder with all of the subfolders and files then it should work.
i think your install isnt working because the file were not copied over properly because the installer could not find them.........

i tried MC annihilator and the program worked and booted right up for me. BUT STILL it will not read my memory card for some reason??? When th MC Annihilator started up it showed 2 question marks. one labeled slot 1 and the other Slot 2. But thats it? I tried my MC in both slots but nothing? The only thing i did that made it stop working was yesterday when i tried to install mcboot. it asked me to format my memory card. then it told me to install multi versions mcboot. which i did. it everything loaded onto the mc then thats it. the mc no longer works in the ps2? the ps2 browser will not read it either? nor do games nor the mc annihilator. Is there anything else than can be done? i really dont wanna go search the stores and pawn shops for another ps2 mc. lol

On one of my MC i had something like that happen before if your lucky like I was
you could use a qtip and some alcohol and clean the copper connections and it might read the MC again.

the MC annihilator didn't work. The MC card just must be fried? All the mc annihilator showed was two question marks labeled slot 1 and slot 2. But my card did not show up?
