problem installing freemcboot
problem installing freemcboot –
i follow the tutorials for swapmagic install
and when it says to load swapmagic up with the usb in it freezes at the swapmagic splashscreen
ps2 is scph-50001
tried freemcboot versions 1.6, 1.7, 1.8
they all freeze at the splashscreen
try a different usb key formatted as fat 32 maybe that will help... i use an old HP branded 128M key no probs....
128 installs , last on 24-May-2013
PS2 50002 PAL Silver
+ Network Adaptor + 500 Gig
Hitachi IDE + FMCB 1.8b
PS2 79002 PAL
Slim Unmodded FMCB 1.8b
black CFW 6.60 B10 PhotoFast 5400 with 2 x 8 Gig micro SDHC
ive tried using a micro sd to do it too
Of course they do.

It is SwapMagic which freezes because it is somehow incompatible with your USB drive or its formatting.
So if any one of the FMCB versions freezes that way, then all the others will too.
Make absolutely certain that the USB device is formatted as a single FAT32 partition.
(Not NTFS, not FAT16 nor just FAT (same thing as FAT16))
And if that does not work, then try another USB drive.
You may also need to doublecheck that you are following the tutorial correctly, using the correct file and folder names on the USB device.
Others have succeeded so it is definitely possible for you as well.

it finally worked with a 320 gb external hardrive
